I accidentally broke the bird's cage so I spent the morning finding a hardware store and getting the cage fixed. That afternoon we headed out to Ground Zero. We walked around the entire complex and it was very moving. On the way out I noticed a small chapel across the street so we went to investigate. The name of it is St. Paul's Chapel and it turns out that not even a single pane of glass was broken when the towers fell. The church was used as a relief center for all the workers clearing out the site. You can read more about it here. We went back to the apartment and relaxed for a while and then headed down to Pier 79 for a twilight cruise of the city. We started on the west side of Manhattan and traveled south around the tip of the city and headed up the east side. We went under the Manhattan, Brooklyn, and 59th St Bridges. We then headed back down and stopped in front of the Statue of Liberty for a few minutes. The cruise lasted about an hour and a half and was totally worth what we spent on it. The pictures that I took don't do the view justice. Once back on dry land we once again headed to Times Square and then to the Bubba Gump Shrimp Company for a late dinner. I highly recommend this restaurant, the food was good and affordable.
