We left the ship at 8:15 am and entered a big hall to check in our baggage. An hour and a half later we got on a bus and prepared for our 3 hour trip to Anchorage. The bus driver was very informative. We stopped once to stretch our legs so I snapped off a few pictures while we were there. You may notice a few dead trees in some of my pictures. Apparently there was a big earthquake in 1964 that registered about 9.4 on the Richter Scale. One side of the valley dropped 8 feet and brought the trees into the tide zone. Once the salt water got to them they were toast. After we got to Anchorage we didn't have enough time to sightsee so we just checked into the airport. At 3:30 we boarded our 3 hour flight to Seattle. We left Anchorage at 3:55 and landed in Seattle at 8:00 but the flight was only 3 hours. During the flight we had to move our clocks forward 1 hour to compensate for the hour that we moved them back on Tuesday night. We left Seattle at 8:45 and landed at LAX at 11:30. That second flight was one of the roughest that I have ever taken. At one point the plane was banking left at about 45 degrees and then dipped far to the right and then back all in about 1.5 seconds. It's a good thing that it was the last flight. Once we retrieved our bags we shuttled back to the Double Tree and retrieved our car. We finally got home at about 1:00 am. That made for a really long day but it was good to be home.
