The TRIP

My girlfriend (Sara), her mother ( Mary), and I (Donald) went on a ten day trip out to Oklahoma and Missouri to visit relatives and to do some sight seeing. We drove out of California and across Arizona to the Grand Canyon where I proposed to Sara. After that we drove across Arizona, across New Mexico, and then across the tip of Texas to Oklahoma. We stopped at Sara's Aunt Carol and Uncle Ed's for a night and then went on to see Uncle Darrell and Aunt Shirley. We spent the night there and went to the Robber's Cave National Park the next day with her cousin Derek. We also stopped by the Cemetery and visited her Grand Parents graves. We left that night and drove about half way across Arkansas and stopped at a motel in North Little Rock. The next morning we finished crossing Arkansas and headed north through Tennessee to Steele, Missouri. There we visited Uncle Willard and Aunt Sandra and the assorted grandchildren.
We stayed there a night and headed back south. It turns out that Graceland was only about 15 to 20 miles out of our way so we headed on down to Memphis. After spending the afternoon at Graceland we drove back across Arkansas and back into Oklahoma before stopping at another motel in Sallisaw. The next day we finished driving across Oklahoma and Texas and back into New Mexico. We stopped at a motel in Fort Sumner, NM and then went to the Billy the Kid museum the next day. After that, we drove through Roswell so we stopped at the UFO Museum. We made it to the Carlsbad Caverns at about 5:30 PM. They closed at
2:00 PM so we didn't go in the Caverns that day but we were in time to see the Bat Flight. We went to the Caverns the next morning and took the long tour. We walked down the trail into the Caverns and then took the long walk around the Big Room. After that we went to the cafeteria and ate our lunch 750 feet under the ground. We left the Caverns and headed home. We made it to Mary's house at 3:00 am Sunday morning. We left on September 6th and returned September 15th driving a total of 4250 miles with no mishaps. All in all I think that it was a fun trip
